Easter Brunch

Ever since the term “brunch” first appeared in print back in 1896 Americans have made the meal a weekend staple. On holidays like Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday, brunch is almost a requirement; so, with Easter coming up this month, do you have your plans nailed down yet? No worries if not – we’ve rounded up some of the best brunch options around Watertown for the upcoming holiday:

If you prefer to stay local, you can’t beat the offerings at Branch Line, whose weekend brunch menu has become a bit of a Watertown staple. They’ll be serving up a special holiday menu that’s still TBD at the time of this publication – but expect dishes like their signature Quarter Rotisserie Chicken w/ Dressed Greens; Steak and Eggs w/ Rotisserie Potato Hash and Spicy Bernaise; and Shakshouka w/ Grilled Bread and Spinach. Reservations can be made here

Nearby Lexington’s Inn at Hastings Park hosts a beautiful three-course Easter brunch at their restaurant Artistry on the Green. Through their partnership with over a dozen local farms, Artistry offers a highly seasonal menu of holiday favorites with a New England twist. Last year’s selections included roasted lamb loin, deviled eggs, and a decadent carrot cake roulade. Reservations are required for the holiday; you can book your table here.

Alden and Harlow in Harvard Square is a hugely popular brunch spot, for their innovative cocktail program alone (Szechuan Bloody Marys, anyone?). Expect some festive add-ons, as well as lots of highly seasonal small plate options. Book your table here.

For brunch with a water view, Zephyr on the Charles is just a few miles down the river, inside the Hyatt Cambridge. Their brunch menu is full and hearty, with classic New England-themed staples like Clam Chowder, Native Crab Frittata, and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Reservations can be made here.

And if you’re doing brunch at home, make sure to check out the delicious holiday pastries and prepared foods available at Russo’s and Sofra Bakery and Café!
