Best Picks for Fall Food Festivals

It’s that time of year again – for apple picking and leaf peeping, sure – but it’s also food festival season! With harvest time comes lots of fun opportunities to sample the many foods and craft beers native to New England. Here’s a look at some of the best ones to plan for:

Presented by the Sustainable Business Network of MA, Boston Local Food Festival is a free outdoor festival happening September 16thon the Rose Kennedy Greenway from 11 AM to 5 PM! Come sample yummy food from local farmers, restaurants, food trucks, and fisheries, and participate in hands-on live chef demos too. There’s a Seafood Throwdown and live music too! Cambridge 5K Oktoberfest: The 7thAnnual Oktoberfest takes place this year on October 7th, kicking off with a road race that starts at CambridgeSide Galleria, winds around Kendall Square, and ends back at the Galleria rooftop with a tasty spread of food, brews, and hard cider! Billed the largest food and wine festival in New England, the Taste of WGBH Food and Wine Festival is back this year on October 12-14 at WGBH Studios in Boston. Tickets are all-inclusive with no hidden fees and are tier-priced to accommodate a range of budgets.
