A Look at Cass School of Floral Design

Spring has finally come to Watertown, and not a minute too soon. After months of drab snow and sleet, we’re ready for flowers, more sunshine, and color – and luckily, we know just where we can find it!

There’s no better place to get into the springtime spirit than at Cass School of Floral Design, licensed in Watertown for 35 years, and host to over 60 classes and workshops open to the public all year long! Owned and operated by the granddaughter of the original founder, Cass is affiliated with Cass the Florist, which has been a part of the Watertown landscape for over 70 years. While the school hosts a professional florist training program, it offers a fantastic selection of classes and workshops designed to teach the basics of floral arranging to anyone who wants to learn. Here’s a peek at some highlights of what’s coming this spring!

  • Fiction to Flowers Bouquets – Wednesday, April 11, 18, 25, 6- 8 PM: Come learn how to make stunning bouquets inspired by the works of Lewis Carroll, Jane Austen, and JK Rowling!

  • Make Your Own Wedding Flowers Weekend Series, April 28-29, 10 AM – 5 PM: Projects include learning to make the most beautiful wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, and floral crowns! Classes may be taken individually or as a full series.

  • Power of a Flower Class, May 2, 7-9 PM: This class focuses on the peony – how to shop for the best specimens and how to feature them to perfection in bouquets, vases, and centerpieces.

  • Mother’s Day Vase Workshop, May 12, 10-11:30 AM: Come learn how to arrange the perfect seasonal vase to surprise Mom with, or bring her along for a fun activity!

Along with their scheduled workshops and festive holiday-themed classes, Cass will help you throw your own “petal party” for a minimum of 6 people, for any occasion! They offer private lessons as well, and will also travel to work corporate events for 20 people or more.
