Watertown Websites to Check Out

We all know the upsides to living in Watertown – among them the people, the food, the neighborhoods, our strong sense of community. The downside? It can be hard to keep up with everything going on in this amazing town! We’ve scouted out some sites that will help you stay on top of what’s happening, no matter how busy you are. Here are our favorites:

  • For a good bead on day-to-day happenings, keep it bookmarked on Watertown News, an independently owned and locally operated news site that offers excellent coverage. Other great ones to follow are Wicked Local Watertown and the Watertown Patch.
  • Were you one of the hundreds of people who read along with One Book, One Watertown last spring? Then you’re probably already a fan of the Watertown Free Public Library and their amazing community-wide programming. Follow along with them to get the latest on free classes, book groups, movie nights, and more.
  • If you’re into the local arts scene, make sure to check out the Mosesian Center for the Arts site. Not only do they operate several theater spaces and galleries, but they also post info on free events, artists’ opportunities, voice lessons, space rentals, available volunteer hours, and more! The New Rep Theatre is also great to keep up with, not only for their excellent productions, but also for the latest on auditions, enrichment programs, employment and internship opportunities, and other arts-related content.
  • Harvard Square is only a few short minutes away from Watertown, and with it of course hundreds of sports, food, educational, and arts events happening all year long. Keep it tuned to Harvard Square for the absolute latest on what you need to know.
  • Into the local food scene? Make sure you’ve got the Watertown Farmers’ Market site bookmarked starting in the spring, when they begin listing the local vendors signed on for that season. The actual market runs from June through the end of October each year – and if you’re interested in possibly being a vendor there, check the site in January for info on applications!

And of course, we’d very humbly add to this list the East End Watertown site we all work so hard on, but you’ve already found us! For that we say a huge THANK YOU for following us and helping us keep this online community going strong. Anything you think we should be covering? Let us know in the comments!
