Where To Catch a Concert

Heads up, music lovers! If you love seeing live shows, you’ve got lots of options around Watertown - from intimate club settings with dinner included, to larger arenas and outdoor music festivals. You’ve got your pick of genres too, whether you’re into jazz, pop, alt rock or hip hop. Here are some venues to check out:

  • If your taste is more towards classical or jazz, check out the excellent selection at the Dorothy and Charles Mosesian Center for the Arts on the Arsenal at the Charles campus. This performance center offer live concerts all year long, both in their theater space and at outdoor lunch gatherings. Check out their event calendar here.

  • Harvard Square's the Beat Brasserie offers amazing food and drink along with an eclectic concert selection. You can choose to book a dinner set (dinner and a show, starting at 6:30 PM) or just catch a show with cocktails at 10 PM. They also do a killer jazz brunch. • Also tucked away in Harvard Square, Club Passim has been a Cambridge hotspot since it opened as a jazz venue back in 1958. It has since built a reputation for featuring young artists on their way up (singers like Tori Amos and Regina Spektor) as well as for providing an intimate setting to see national acts. Plus they host outdoor shows all over Cambridge and Boston! Find calendar and ticket info here.

  • The Sinclair on Church Street in Cambridge offers that rare combination of excellent gastropub fare with a killer music line-up. Come for the amazing cocktails and food, stay for the awesome shows! Click here for concert calendar and reservations.

  • Finally, if outdoor music festivals are your thing, you’ll want to check out Boston Calling, our answer to Bonnarroo (minus the tents and mud).

Started only a few years ago, Boston Calling has quickly grown into a premiere three-day, multi-stage festival featuring some of the biggest music and comedy acts in the world. It’s traditionally held in May and September; check out their website for what’s coming next.
