Fall Food Festivals

Many of us live for the summer here in H20town, but we think the fall is pretty awesome too. There’s nowhere to celebrate the season better than in New England – whether you’re into leaf peeping, craft beer drinking, or apple picking. There are lots of food festivals happening this fall that you’ll definitely want to make room for, which is why we’re giving you plenty of notice to plan ahead! Here are a few we think look pretty cool:

  • Cambridge 5K Oktoberfest – As the organizers put it, the Cambridge 5K Oktoberfest on October 1st begins at MIT and ends with beer – sounds good to us! Get your steps in along a scenic route that takes you from CambridgeSide, through Kendall Square, and back again, ending with an amazing spread of food and craft brews. So grab some friends and your leiderhosen and get busy – registration details here!
  • The ever-popular Taste of WBGH Food and Wine Festival is back this year, October 5-8, at WGBH Studios in Boston! This is always a sell-out, featuring some of the area’s best chefs, food, and drink, along with seminars and live music. Tickets to the event are all-inclusive, with no hidden fees. Get your tickets here before they’re all gone!
  • For those of you who didn’t know marshmallow fluff was invented right down the street in Somerville, we say What the Fluff - as in it’s time to get schooled at the What the Fluff Festival, coming back to Union Square on September 23rd! You’ll learn the crazy history of this kinda-gross-yet-delicious sweet stuff, and you’ll get to eat a ton of it and play with it too! A must-do if you haven’t yet experienced this – event info here.
  • Heads up, dedicated and aspiring vegans slash vegetarians – the Vegetarian Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival is back this fall at Arsenal Yards! Date is set for September 10th and other details are forthcoming as we write this, but check back here for updates on which amazing food purveyors and craft breweries will be coming this year.
  • Finally, let’s talk about food – the festival that is. The amazing Let’s Talk About Food festival is back in Boston this fall, promising more hands-on food demonstrations, chef-led how tos, and other fantastic opportunities to learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the food we eat! Check back on their website for updates as they become available.
