The Mount Auburn Club

We recently scouted out some of the best gyms in Watertown with evening classes and late-night hours. The Mount Auburn Club was one that we briefly highlighted – but with its extensive offerings and amenities, we knew we had to share more about this club with our faithful followers.

The Mount Auburn Club, conveniently located on the Cambridge/Watertown line, was founded in 1974 with just six tennis courts. Over the last four decades, the club has continually evolved to be one of the area’s premier fitness and wellness communities. You have to join to take advantage of all amenities, but they do offer a free 7-day pass to let you kick the tires.

And that list of amenities is extensive and quite impressive. The facility includes a 7-lane swimming pool, a whirlpool, tennis courts, and a full service spa. Spa services include everything from acupuncture to facials, to massages, and more. Those looking to work out in a gym setting can take advantage of the club’s specialized equipment and the support of their personal trainers.

The Mount Auburn Club boasts a fun schedule of group fitness classes that are appropriate for people of all fitness levels. Group fitness classes range from cardio and strength, group cycling, aquatics, movement and flexibility, and mind and body classes, including a variety of types of yoga and pilates.

If you’re looking to grab a healthy and delicious meal, snack, or smoothie after your workout, head on into MAC’s Market and Cafe. The cafe uses the freshest ingredients including vegetables and herbs grown on-site by Green City Growers. You may choose to dine in the cafe and take advantage of the wi-fi or you can enjoy your coffee on the outdoor patio overlooking protected wetlands by the Charles River!
