Our Favorite Rooftop Dining Options

With the warm summer days upon us, we New Englanders are spending as much time outdoors as possible. Watertown has a number of restaurants that offer outdoor dining for those wanting to relax with a meal and a drink on a patio or under an umbrella.

If you’re looking to take your al fresco eating to a new level (yes, pun intended!), then we recommend some of these locales with rooftop dining:

Felipe’s Taqueria in Harvard Square offers up quickly made Mexican food from scratch. Grab some tacos, a burrito, or quesadilla with a side of chips and guacamole and enjoy while doing some excellent people watching. Plus, they’re open until 12am Sunday-Wednesday and until 2am Thursday-Saturday - a total bonus for the late night crowd!

Daedalus Restaurant at 45 Mt. Auburn Street in Cambridge is another popular option in Harvard Square. The restaurant is located in a converted greenhouse and the roof deck offers wonderful views of Harvard Square. The food is fun and fresh, the drinks are plentiful, and they offer a brunch menu on the weekends. We are currently dreaming of Saturday brunch with a Bloody Mary on the roof!

Head on over to Cleveland Circle in Brighton and enjoy views of the reservoir and Boston College at Cityside. The menu offers up your standard American fare with a weekend brunch and they’re open until 2am all week long to accommodate your busy social calendar. Stop in on Tuesdays from 8-10pm for trivia and on Wednesdays before 4pm for half price burgers!

Cambridge’s The Sinclair at 52 Church Street boasts a spacious rooftop deck and combines American, gastropub food in combined with a live-music venue setting. The weekly dinner menu is eclectic and fun and weekend brunch is equally as exciting – we recommend the twaffle burger or brioche donut holes. They have a full lineup of live-music shows that tend to sell out, so you might want to purchase ahead. Click here for the full lineup.
