Evening Workout Options

With work schedules and social commitments, it’s often tricky trying to fit exercise into your daily routine. Luckily Watertown boasts a number of gyms and fitness studios, many of which stay open late and offer evening group exercise classes! Check out one of these spots if you’re looking to get your work out in after 7 PM:

GymIt Watertown is a no-frills, high quality gym featuring expanded hours and competitive membership fees. GymIt Watertown has partnered with EverybodyFights to offer EBF classes Mondays through Thursdays at 7:30 PM. Get ready to throw on some boxing gloves and take out the day’s stress on the heavy bag, plus get in a killer workout while you’re at it!

Central Rock Gym is a rock climbing gym that also offers yoga and fitness classes. Their facility, with its state of the art rock walls and variety of equipment, is impressive. There are a variety of evening group classes available during the week, including Restorative Yoga; Power and Strength, and Introductory Belay Classes. No worries if you’re a total rock climbing novice - Central Rock Gym welcomes people of all levels and abilities and promises that you’ll be hooked in no time!

The Mount Auburn Club is a full-service fitness and wellness center and includes fitness training, tennis courts, a pool, a spa, and a café. Their after-work evening class selection includes Zumba, Pilates, and Hydro Blast.

Looking to wind down with some yoga? Artemis Yoga is relatively new to the Watertown area and boasts two practice rooms, showers, lockers and member mat storage. Weekday evening classes include a number of yoga flow classes at different levels. Check out their schedule to find your right fit. 

Inner Strength Studios has been in the yoga business for almost twenty years; what sets them apart is their policy of heating all exercise rooms to about 90 degrees in order to create a physically challenging experience. For the evening crowd, there are a number of classes to choose from, some as late as 8 PM. Classes range from 50-75 minutes – ample time to have you heading home happily drenched in sweat and a lot more relaxed!
