February Events at the WFPL

Our local libraries have moved way beyond being cozy places to read (which we love, of course), and the Watertown Free Public Library is a thriving example of just that. In addition to its extensive collection of books, magazines, and media, as well as a cafe and an art gallery; the WFPL also has a busy and varied Activities and Events calendar for local residents to dive into.

Let’s take a look at what’s on the calendar for the month of February:

Movie Mondays take place weekly at 6:30 PM and is open and free to adults. Past selections include Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Indignation, and Cafe Society. You can call ahead to ask about each week’s movie selection, or follow them on Facebook for weekly updates.

The E-Tea drop-in session each Thursday offers help with basic computer skills, word processing, and library resources, as well as tablets, eReaders, and smartphones. The times alternate each week between a morning and afternoon session so be sure to check the calendar ahead of time.

Community Yoga will be held every Wednesday during the month of February from 9:15-10:00 AM. This program is open to ages 12 and up, and space is limited to the first thirty people. Don’t forget your yoga mat and a small towel.

On Sunday, February 19th stop in for Between the Lines: Drop In Coloring For Adults happening from 2-4 PM. The library provides the coloring books and crayons – all you need to do is show up. Come channel your inner fourth grader and unplug for a few hours!

Do you or someone you know have questions related to immigration law? The WFPL has partnered with Kandilian Law Offices to offer a free Immigration Clinic to be held on Wednesday, February 15th from 6:30-8:30 PM. A lawyer from their office will be on-hand to answer any immigration-related questions and provide helpful information on the topic.

We’ve just scratched the surface here, folks! In addition to the events mentioned above, the WFPL also holds craft sessions, book clubs, and social services resource sessions for adults. There is also plenty of programming for the younger crowd, including story times for preschoolers, infant massage, and Wii sessions for teens!
