Valentine’s Day Destinations

Panicking because Valentine’s Day is almost here and you have yet to plan the perfect date for that special someone? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Grab a beautiful bouquet of flowers for your sweetie and book a romantic evening at one of these amazing nearby eateries:

Head on over to Porcini’s Italian Restaurant for an intimate meal by the fireplace. Nosh on classic Italian dishes like Chicken Marsala, Veal Osso Buco, and Seafood Fra Diavolo, and make sure to choose a bottle from their amazing wine list. Dessert is basically mandatory on Valentine’s Day, so don’t fret over indulging in their silky Creme Brulee or decadent Flourless Chocolate Cake.

Enjoy a bistro style meal in a cozy and intimate atmosphere at Sycamore, located in nearby Newton Centre. Their menu features classic bistro fare – think grilled fish and sirloin, roast chicken and vegetables - as well as an inventive drink menu and dessert choices that made our knees buckle (they had us at the warm sugared beignets).

A longtime Watertown favorite, La Casa de Pedro features cuisine from Venezuela and Latin America with a fun, high-energy vibe. We suggest starting with a refreshing ensalada before moving onto one of their cant-miss entrees, such as Pollo Asada or La Paella de Pedro. Toast your honey with one of their signature margaritas or mojitos before heading home to snuggle.

Lumiere offers French farm-to-table cuisine with a moveable menu built around seasonal ingredients. While it’s continually updated, the menu features standard French fare like Coq au Vin and Clove-spiced Duck Breast – and we are big fans of the cheese dessert plate. For a fun twist, you might want to try out the Chef’s Tasting Menu, offering five blind courses with a wine pairing option, at $75 per person. The whole table must commit to the tasting - but making a commitment shouldn’t be a problem for you and your main squeeze!
