Satisfy Your Steak Craving

We always love a good salad here in the East End – but sometimes there’s just nothing like a sizzling, juicy steak. Head to one of these local establishments the next time you get that red meat craving:

Greg’s Restaurant on Mt. Auburn Street in Watertown has been family owned and operated since 1932. They’ve always been committed to using the freshest products available and serving food that feels and tastes homemade. The menu offers a top sirloin as well as a twelve or eighteen ounce sirloin strip. We suggest pairing your steak with their baked potato topped with cheddar cheese and bacon.

Miller’s Ale House, with its extensive menu and variety of steak options, is always a crowd pleaser. Their sirloin, rib eye, and flat iron options are served either grilled or blackened and come with a variety of sides. For an additional fee, add on a lobster tail or boom-boom shrimp if surf and turf is your thing.

Frank’s Steak House in Cambridge was established is 1938 and has been featured in numerous publications, on the Food Network, and on Phantom Gourmet. The “Steaks, Rib, and Chops” section of their menu is comprehensive. The food won’t disappoint and neither will the throwback feel of the decor and surroundings.

The Stockyard at 135 Market Street in Brighton has been a recognizable landmark in the area for the last forty years. All of their cuts of beef are hand selected, prime-grade, and sourced from corn-fed cows. Steak options include sirloins, filets, and New York strips, to name a few, and are complimented by sides, like our favorite, the lobster mac and cheese.

Of course, we can’t forget to mention a few other Watertown establishments that we’ve highlighted in the past. Strip-T’s steak frites, prepared with a chili rub and kimchi hollandaise, is a unique take on a classic. Branch Line boasts a 36 ounce rib eye for two as well as a butcher’s steak with a delicious roasted garlic anchovy butter. And, if cooking at home is more your thing, stop by the Meat Spot for a freshly butchered cut of steak and all of the ingredients needed to make your own steak house quality meal.
