Grab and Go Lunches

With fall in full swing, shorter days and colder weather makes it seem as though there aren’t enough hours to get it all done! Don’t fret - grab a quick and satisfying lunch at one of these Watertown eateries in between errands or meetings:

  • Meat Spot at 28 Mt. Auburn Street is a family owned and operated custom butchery and deli. Their take-out menu offers a range of salads and sandwiches using only the finest and freshest meats. The shop also features a fully stocked deli case, a section of gourmet food items and a small market with produce and dairy items. Pop in for lunch to go and head back in the next time you need that perfect steak for a special dinner!

  • Right down the street from the Arsenal Project is Farmer’s Market Kitchen at 222 Arsenal Street. They’ve made it their mission to use primarily locally sourced, natural and organic ingredients. FMK’s attention to detail is evident in their seasonally inspired menu that includes sandwiches, salads, soups, brunch and even some kids options. They also cater, so check them out next time you offer to host something but would rather skip the cooking!

  • For more of an ethnic twist, head on out to Sevan Bakery at 599 Mt. Auburn Street. A Watertown staple since 1971, Sevan’s wide array of Armenian and Middle Eastern foods include stuffed grape leaves, hummus, tabouleh, babaganoush and borekas (turnovers with fillings). The bakery also features an expansive olive bar and nut bar as well as a complete line of international specialty foods and a wine cellar. You’ll feel welcome and right at home at Sevan’s!

  • Fordee’s Falafel and Deli at 555 Mt. Auburn Street is another option for Middle Eastern cuisine, but with an American twist. Their massive menu includes middle eastern platters, hot subs, roll ups, salads, burgers, and falafel, of course. The portions are generous and satisfying and the prices are affordable!

  • Still craving that sit-down lunch experience? Stop in to Deluxe Town Diner at 627 Mt. Auburn Street. The epitome of old-school, the diner has been a Watertown landmark since 1947 and maintains its original tile, stainless steel and exterior neon. Lunch (and breakfast!) is served all day and features the class diner meals you’d expect: reubens, club sandwiches, burgers and grilled cheese. There is nothing better than a little comfort food on a cool, fall day!
