A Look Inside the Arsenal’s Branch Line
Watertown’s hottest new restaurant might have Boston connections, but its roots are 100% homegrown. Branch Line, the latest from Boston’s Eastern Standard team, is owned by local boy Andrew Holden, who grew up just blocks away from the restaurant’s new location at Arsenal on the Charles. “I have worked in restaurants for 17 years,” Holden recently told Watertown News, “and if you asked me if I would ever open a restaurant in Watertown – I would have never thought I would.” Yet another indicator that the East End’s white hot streak shows no signs of cooling anytime soon.

A sleek brasserie with soaring ceilings, a heated patio and bocce court, Branch Line’s streamlined dining room and bar feature an open kitchen that’s anchored by a central rotisserie and wood-fired grill. Succulent slow-roasted meats and a signature roast chicken are among the Mediterranean-influenced dishes, which include everything from grilled oysters and a marinated lamb skewer to prime Bavette steak with roasted garlic and anchovy butter, to baked Sicilian white fish in a spiced tomato broth.

Branch Line only just opened in October, but the reviews so far are stellar. “The space is absolutely amazing!” raves a recent Yelper. “The big room is just awesome and everything is very tastefully decorated. The service is great and everyone in my group had a great time there.”
